Apple released the much anticipated quad-core and 8-core Mac Pro models on Wednesday. The new pro-level Macs are available in speeds up to 3.0 GHz. The 8-core model is available with two 3.0 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon 5300 series processors with 8 MB L2 cache per processor, 64-bit data paths and registers and 1.33 GHz 64-bit dual front-side buses.
