Hi guyz, my cousins buying a new ASUS A7V266-E and 1800+ Athlon XP. Currently he has a Athlon Thunderbird 850Mhz with a Abit KT7A Motherborad and also a Intel P3 500Mhz with a Gigabyte motherboard with dual bios(don't know model).

The new geforce4TI 4600 agp has agp 8x , sounds cool enough. But what motherboards support 8x? I just bought a brand new asus a7v266-e and it only says 4x ? wtf ? will any new bios's enable the 8x ?.

Loud freaking noise in my PC

I suddenly come across a loud noise from the inside of my PC. It is really loud. It has happened before and usually goes away for some reason and then comes back after a few months, but right now it is really loud and quite annoying.

How to install Linux under Quantum Disk manager

Dear All, I have an extra machine I wish to set up as a Win2k Server / Suse Linux Multi-boot SERVER. Unfortunately, the Bios ONLY supports up to 8. 4GB, and the only way to utilize my 12GB drive would be to run it through the Quantum Disk Manager! Note: Even IF I set up the BIOS to use the drive as an 8.

Today i came home from IKEA and found my Athlon XP was off, i had left it on while i was out. Upon turning it on, no Fans spun(CPU Fan, Motherboard Fan and PSU Fan). I took out everything from the case and tried it now, still nothing.

I am not extremely well versed on some audio configurations, especially as far as hom theatre goes. I have an audigy and a logitech z560 setup. There are 2 connectors on the z560 that plug into the audigy repectivly.

According to the newest article, even with all the spiffy little benchmarks run and the Intel proc (in both RDRAM and DDR) taking the lead on many of them, their is that AMD is still better. Now, how is that so? I have never been a fan of benchmarks, and certainly not of Tom's Hardware for the last couple of years, ...

I posted that Windows XP Constructive Criticism post a while back noting some issues I have had with XP, now things are really starting to tick me off. The ZIP support is really bothering me. I conducted a search for a file , and XP insisted on searching through all my ZIPS in addition to the hard disk.

Anyone having a UMAX scanner should note out that the version cited here is for FireWire users. That means those majority of us who own a USB scanner (ie. Astra 2100U) should NOT download this. Instead, simply go over to and download the right drivers from there.

i got a diamond monster 3d 2 it is a realy old card so there r no Xp drivers for it. i read somehwere that its chipset was a voodoo2. does that mean i can use a voodoo2 xp driver for it???? please helpppppp.
