Compaq joins Sun in Java fight

Compaq, which originally said it would not preinstall the software, now joins Dell which will bundle a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) with every Windows XP computer its sells. The JVM will not appear in Windows XP unless an original equipment manufacturer includes it.
