Photon's Instant Import feature and intuitive sorting UI allow for rapid scanning and organization of large sets of photos. Photon takes advantage of all the latest hardware, including multi-processor Intel CPUs and latest-generation graphics cards to provide outstanding performance.

Tewksbury, Massachusetts - November 2, 2007 - Green Volcano Software is proud to announce Photon 1.0, their high-performance, digital image viewing and sorting application for Mac OS X. By taking advantage of all the latest hardware, including the new Intel multi-processor systems and latest-generation graphics processors, Photon's highly optimized imaging engine can quickly scan and sort through large sets of high resolution photos.

Photon's intuitive stack-based user-interface has been carefully crafted to mimic how one would normally sort slides on a light table, offering users an elegant and efficent way to view and sort images. Photon can load images directly from a memory card, or from a hard disk.

Photon's Instant Import feature then intelligently pre-fetches and caches images within seconds, and continues processing in the background so full resolution image previews load instantly. Photon will also automatically recognize and start displaying images from any attached card reader, loading images directly from the memory card and avoiding the need to first download images to your hard drive.

Photon's customizable keyboard shortcut system gives power users a convenient way to organize images without ever touching a mouse; perfect for those who work on the road using a laptop.

Feature Highlights in Version 1.0:
* Version 1.0 sports Leopard compatibility
* Full resolution image previews
* Support for RAW formats from many camera manufacturers
* Batch convert images to JPEG, PNG, PSD and many other formats
* Customizable keyboard shortcuts
* Automatically detects card readers and memory cards
* Supports multi-processor systems
* Full drag and drop support

Supported Languages:
* US English

System Requirements:
* Requires Mac OS X v10.4.10 or Leopard 10.5
* Universal binary for PowerPC Intel
* G4, G5 or Intel CPU
* 3.8 MB Hard Drive space
* Minimum 1GB of RAM

Photon is the perfect companion to other photography asset-management systems like Aperture and Lightroom(TM). Instead of loading all the images from a shoot into a database and then deleting the bad images, use Photon to do a high-speed first cut before importing them.

Pricing and Availability:
Photon 1.0 may be purchased from the Green Volcano store for a special introductory price of $49.00 USD.
