"With a tool for simple encryption already available we realized that this process needs to be automated when you have to handle more than just a few files, like a whole drive for example. The approach with a dual panel layout where you just move data from one side to the other in order to encrypt or decrypt data proved to be the most comfortable. This allows to encrypt files with just one click to make them available for others, and to protect data it's just a matter of dragging the files to the left panel." as Christian Schaffner, General Manager of B-Eng, explains the idea behind Data Vault. "In a vault you can lock away stuff with a simple mechanism, with data vault you can lock away whole drives with a mechanism just as simple."
