The popular add-on for QuarkXPress since 1999, is now also available for Adobe InDesign CS3. Printools helps prepress and printing professionals produce automated and error-free output by combining two of its most powerful features: batch printing and preflighting.

Printools allows users of InDesign CS3 to:

* Batch print up to 5000 documents with the same print settings. Printing can be performed to a printer queue or to disk.

* Preflight documents before printing. This tool quickly checks for common errors that could lead to time and material waste, such as broken links or missing fonts. When problems are found, the user can decide whether to skip the document, stop the printing process or continue printing.

* Rename the output stream without altering the document or file name. Print renaming is useful for identifying the document during the output stage, regardless of the actual document name. It is also helpful in keeping track of revisions or when printing individual pages for imposition.

* Print to file as PostScript or PDF. Instead of sending directly to the printer, users can choose to save the printout to file in any of these formats. When combined with Batch Printing, thousands of files can be generated in one single step.

In addition, Printools for InDesign CS3 comes with a new Print Log window that shows in real time which files are being printed, and allows for a complete analysis of the output and preflight processes.

Badia Printools 5.0 requires Adobe InDesign CS3, and Mac OS X Tiger or Leopard. Printools is also available for QuarkXPress 4, 5, 6 and 7.
