Apple, Fox Plotting to Bust Into Movie Rental Market

Apple has signed a deal with News Corp.'s 20th Century Fox to allow Apple to rent the latest Fox DVD releases via downloads from the iTunes Store, which will be playable for a limited time, according to a report in the UK's <i>Financial Times</i>. In addition, Fox will provide a FairPlay-protected file with its DVDs which will let consumers copy the content to an iPod or iPhone for mobile viewing, according to the report.
