Aberystwyth, United Kingdom - September 8, 2007 - ThinkMac Software announces iKana 1.5, the latest release of their popular Japanese educational flash card software for Mac OS X. Version 1.5 adds a number of new features customers have asked for; including vocabulary practice, word list importing and improved flash card editing facilities.

iKana is built up of six modules which aim to help anyone learn the Japanese phonetic alphabets of Hiragana and Katakana, improve reading speed and expand the vocabulary of Japanese words.

The new vocabulary module allows users to easily build up word lists to test themselves with using drag and drop from iKana's Japanese dictionary. Word lists can also be imported from tab-delimited text files, created either by the user or downloaded from the Internet.

The study guide feature tracks the user's performance in the built-in tests and uses the results to guide them as to which characters they need to focus their attention on learning.

The flash card editing interface has been totally revamped, consolidating everything into one window. This makes it much easier to create, manage and share character flash card sets. With full undo support, users don't need to worry about accidentally deleting or modifying any of the supplied sets.

Main Features and Benefits:
* Flash Cards
* Speed Recognition
* Word Romanization
* Vocabulary Practice
* Study Guide
* Create your own flash cards, duplicate and modify the supplied sets
* Controllable via the Apple Remote

System Requirements:
* Mac OS X 10.4 or later
* Universal Binary for PowerPC Intel
* Apple Japanese Fonts
* 4 MB Hard Drive space.

Pricing and Availability:
iKana 1.5 may be purchased for $19.70 USD (14.00 EUR).
