Chicago - "We're a state of the art facility. We use Apple Omniteks running on OS Cobra. We have holographic touch screens and voice command modules." Says Adonijah Washington, public relations specialist for Cutting Edge EMS. Mr. Washington is the alter ego of Night Phoenix an African American superhero in a scary future were supervillains, vampires and zombies terrorize our world.

Night Phoenix is a comic book character created by Chicago area artist, writer and Apple enthusiast J. Piv a.k.a "PIVIT". Frank Stein Medical is a company under investigation for misuse of government cloning contracts. Cutting Edge EMS is a medical research and development facility on the hot seat for its involvement with Frank Stein. This kind of thing is a major concern in a future America that is so close yet still very far away.

"I play around with everything." Says J. Piv. "I wanted Cutting Edge EMS to be state of the art so when you think state of the art you think Apple. I thought about what an Apple Computer would be like in that time. Small, with tiny but powerful harddrives, with holographic screen modules in which characters have to wear special rings (while other companies use gloves) to create a touch screen effect; think about it like a holographic version of the iPod Touch. Something like the hardware they used in the movie 'Minority Report' but for home and office use."

Piv's Omnitek Holo-Mac's holographic screen was first seen in a book called "Abiding Lilith #Alpha" along with the first appearance of company's high flying, crime busting namesake "Night Phoenix" as well as the tough talking butt kicking demon hunter "Locke" and Damious a young mage forced into marrying into the abusive, female dominated coven, the Sisterhood of Lilith.

"Abiding Lilith #Alpha" and it's spin off "Epitaph #0", (a horror comic for adult readers) is currently being sold from Piv's website at nightphoenixpress.com via his online comic shop while "Night Phoenix #1" is slated for March. Pivit's in house comic production studio BlackOut Texture Shoppe (or B.O.T.S) colors, designs and tones all their comics books with on an Apple G4 set up that used to be a video editing suite. "I have all the goodies, I just need one of those Wacom Cintiq tablets, then I'll be all good, so I hope people buy a lot of books." Says J.Piv.

Piv's suggestions for future Apple Computers: "I'd like to see the towers get smaller and more powerful as drives and media get smaller. And when will we see iPod Touch style screens on Macbooks or available for MacPros? In the Night Phoenix universe there are terabyte flash drives that can plug into Fireburst ports (the equivalent of ultra fast Firewire ports). No one makes 'towers' anymore and external drives are more than portable, plugging directly into the computer." Says Piv. "Most computers are short like two Mac Minis stacked, with up to eight Fireburst ports for external storage and peripherals. Firewire and USB are no more and networks are, for the most part, wireless. Computers don't have fans or loud moving parts anymore either."
