Absinthe jailbreaks nearly 1 million iOS devices over holiday weekend
Absinthe 2.0 was released on Friday the 25th, the long-awaited untethered jailbreak for iOS version 5.1.1, supporting almost every iOS device, including the new iPad 3. Just two days later on Sunday, Chronic Dev Team, one of the developers behind Absinthe along with iPhone Dev Team and others, announced on Twitter that Absinthe has been used to jailbreak at least 973,086 devices.
Additionally, Chronic Dev noted that 211,401 of those devices were the new iPad 3. Considering the tweet was posted on Sunday, it's not much of a stretch to assume the total number easily passed 1 million total devices by the end of the Memorial Day holiday.
