Steve Jobs Announces 3rd Party SDK for iPhone for February 2008

Mac Rumors posted a news story that Steve Jobs has posted an open letter revealing that Apple will be releasing a 3rd party SDK for iPhone and iPod Touch development.
The SDK will be released in February 2008.
