Jubilant investors have decided Starbucks is worth US$3.8 billion more than it was Tuesday, based on a strong sales report and the company's plan to more than triple its stores to 40,000 worldwide. About half of the stores will be in the United States, where Starbucks currently has 8,800 shops. Executives upped the goal from 30,000 locations, because they see few signs of market saturation.
